That holiday quilt looks so pretty...can't wait to see the whole thing!

As for wool, I have used Matilda's Own and also Hobbs Wool with great success, but have not tried it in a double batt yet. My next batting experiment will be Quilters Dream Puff, a poly that I hope will absorb some of the gathers and puckers on some very old tops I am completing for my sister-in-law.Jeanne Turner McBrayerhttp://allthingsquilty.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29951011.post-46095880208355260802009-11-22T15:34:04.398+00:002009-11-22T15:34:04.398+00:00I can't remember which wool wadding I am using...I can't remember which wool wadding I am using at the moment and I can't get into my store room right now. I will look it up for you though. I think you would find a double wadded quilt a big bulky for a domestic machine unless you kept it fairly small or used wadding which compress well. Warm and natural is quite bulky but the wool will compress to nothing. I think Sally (Feather on a wire) uses wool over poly, I'll ask her if she will chip in here. She quilts on a Berninia so might have better advice.Ferrethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05503132721132843219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29951011.post-16489714383001693692009-11-22T12:56:23.082+00:002009-11-22T12:56:23.082+00:00I like 'Warma and Natural' too and have us...I like 'Warma and Natural' too and have used it on its own in about 4 of my quilts. I have never used wool wadding though, can you tell me which one you are using as I quite fancy making a quilt with wool. Only snag I have a Bernina 1260 workhorse and I just manage to get the w and n in the space but I have not tried it with wool.Lyn Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00557236694461718364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29951011.post-62977066123610780842009-11-22T11:05:45.171+00:002009-11-22T11:05:45.171+00:00That's why I've used so much Masterpiece f...That's why I've used so much Masterpiece from Superior, the sheen on that is great too. So much so I have had heated discussions with people at shows who know I haven't used cotton thread :) I can't really see the sheen on the Aurifil on this quilt but I will be looking to use it on some whole cloths next and it will show up well there.Ferrethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05503132721132843219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29951011.post-2766403937859096172009-11-22T01:17:51.790+00:002009-11-22T01:17:51.790+00:00I love the sheen on the Aurifil threads, too.
